Learning Support
Supporting those who may have addition needs in college |
|
We support students who may have needs that are additional or different from other students in college. These students may have learning difficulties, behavioural problems, communication problems or physical difficulties. The Learning Support Department staff assist these students to overcome their difficulties and ensure they achieve their potential. Our work is carried out by supporting students in subject lessons, small groups or other areas specific to students' needs. The Learning Support Department works closely with all subject teachers, Student Support and Pastoral Support Assistants within college. We also liaise with educational psychologists, advisors for the hearing and sight impaired, Connexions, physiotherapists and other outside agencies to ensure the continued support and care of our students. We aim to work closely with parents/guardians and to keep them informed of their child's progress.
We encourage students to develop their learning, giving specific advice for different subjects. Subject specific advice is available a number of subjects, please find the links below for more information.
