Year 7 Catch up Premium Report

Income 12/13

The Catch up premium received was £12 000.  Students that were under level 4 national benchmark in Reading and/or Mathematics in Year 6 were allocated £500. This was spent in the following ways:-

  • Smaller Class Sizes
  • One to one tuition

Impact

84% of students receiving the catch up premium were on track to reach their FFT D target for the end of Key Stage 3, according to teacher assessment taken in Summer 2013. 16% of students are now over the national benchmark for Year 6.

Income 13/14

24 results were below level 4 in either Reading or Mathematics in the current Year 7 when they sat their SATs exams in Year 6. Therefore we are expecting £12000.

The monies are being spent in the following ways:-

  • Accelerated Reader Programme
  • Mathematics Intervention Programme

Both strategies are in the College’s Improvement Plan. Early signs are that both strategies are working extremely well.
