A Level ART and PHOTOGRAPHY
Fine art
Students who choose to study Fine Art, will be working with a range of 2D and 3D media to develop their visual skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. They may wish to work in alternative media, which includes contemporary approaches such as installation, land art and digital technology for example, using moving images. Students will be expected to generate and develop ideas, selecting the most appropriate media and techniques to communicate their ideas effectively.
Photography – lens and light-based media
Photography offers opportunities to work with both traditional and digital media. It includes film and video and it is possible to combine both stills and moving images in developing creative ideas. Students are expected to respond to given briefs or themes, they may go out on location shoots and from this, select and manipulate images to develop and communicate their ideas.

External Set Exam
Theme set by Exam Board

Self-selected Contextual Unit of 3,000 words plus a Personal Portfolio developed and built through Student centred learning.
