OUR VISION

Every one at HCC believes in themselves and their potential to succeed because they are empowered to develop their own solutions and shape their own futures.

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the commitment, challenge and collaboration that is Honiton Community College.  I trust our partnership will be a long and successful one.

We believe that College life is all about enjoyment and achievement.  You can sense the enthusiasm of everyone involved at Honiton.  Students enjoy their learning and take part in the many extra-curricular opportunities on offer.  The College has a happy and friendly atmosphere where mutual respect is encouraged, and everyone's opinions are valued.  Student voice is important and I am keen to give them a bigger say in the leadership and management of the College and the wider community.

Students of all abilities are successful here, and standards have continued to rise in recent years.  The vast majority of our students will continue into further education, and many are keen to stay on in our Sixth Form.  This is a consequence of the hard work and commitment of both students and staff.

Students make good progress because our staff strive to offer first class teaching and learning in a way that actively engages everyone.  We know how to challenge our students because we know them as individuals.  This means we are better equipped to motivate them and support them in their learning so that they have a better chance to maximise their potential.  The development of social and emotional skills is also seen as an important factor in the success of our students.

We continue to strengthen the link between learning and teaching by engaging students, and their parents, as partners in learning.  The College possesses a culture of high expectations for all, and this includes the parents and carers of our students.  Strong collaborative links between home and school is the added ingredient that enhances their success.

These are proud declarations!  Come and see for yourself.  I look forward to meeting you and invite you to be a part of the success of Honiton Community College.
