The Modern Foreign Language department at Honiton Community College would like to invite you to take part in our annual French exchange with our partner School in Strasbourg. This truly beautiful medieval city boasts World Heritage Status and we are delighted to be able to offer pupils to chance to see the oldest and most traditional Christmas markets in Europe, first inaugurated in 1570.

The exchange has been planned to provide the very best opportunities to experience French life and culture, to improve French listening and speaking skills, take part in cross-curricular projects and to make new friends abroad.

A new Drop In Session has been arranged for parents to come along and discuss any concerns they have in terms of parenting teenagers.

Preparation

This year the college entered a 35 mile and a 45 mile team. We started training at the end of November last year with 20 students from year groups 9 to 12.

The training is not easy, 5 months of gruelling training walks, mostly on the moor each walk being progressively more difficult in terms of the distance and terrain covered. This year
