11 students in years 10 and 11 have successfully completed their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. The students, who were presented with their awards by the Chair of Governors, Mrs. Linda Price, in front of the entire College, had undertaken sixth months of voluntary work in the community, improved their personal fitness and skills and undertaken a challenging two-day expedition on one of the hottest weekends of the year. The external expediton assessor added a note to his report which read "What great kids! Wow! Mature, responsible, polite, fun, sensible respectful, cooperative, team players, competent. Utterly brilliant!". Next year's bumper group of 30+ participants have a lot to live up to!
Mr. Hall would like to thank all those staff who gave up their time to help staff the expedition and expedition training over the last couple of months, and particular thanks to the expedition supervisor, Miss Wyatt for putting it all together.
The recipients of the award were Ameerah Askew, Dan Hole, Joe Few, Lauren Hunt, Cerys Little, Tess Myzscka, Shaun Summers, Will Taylor, Freya Westall and Ben Williams.
